About This Role

Nexo People is recruiting on behalf of a well-established supported-housing provider for an experienced Locality Manager. Based in Bury, Greater Manchester, you'll lead and develop adult supported-housing services across a designated region, with regular travel to schemes in your area.

This is a senior operational role managing performance, quality, people and budgets across multiple supported-accommodation services. You'll oversee a regional team, a budget of around £3 million, and services supporting 200–300 tenants and residents, with direct line management of around 10 staff and indirect oversight of 50–75.

The role blends governance and regulatory compliance, relationship-building with commissioners and funders, income generation, financial oversight, risk and safeguarding leadership, and continuous service improvement.

Please note this role requires an Enhanced DBS check (with the adults' barred list), and the employer is unable to offer visa sponsorship.

We're an inclusive employer and welcome applications from people of all backgrounds.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Monitor and report on performance against service specifications and KPIs, ensuring delivery meets contractual and regulatory requirements
  • Build and maintain relationships with commissioning teams, funders and other providers to create growth and collaboration opportunities
  • Lead, develop and manage the regional team to achieve operational goals and KPIs
  • Contribute to income generation and business growth, securing and expanding contracts and managing implementation and exit risks
  • Provide financial oversight of the region: managing delegated budgets, monitoring income and expenditure, and improving resource efficiency
  • Embed a culture of continuous improvement through audits, service reviews and performance monitoring
  • Review and update policies and procedures with department leads, and design and deliver training across the organisation
  • Lead co-production, engagement and complaints handling, driving tenant satisfaction across the region
  • Lead operational and strategic risk management, coordinating out-of-hours cover and acting as the locality Safeguarding Coordinator

What We're Looking For

  • A basic standard of education, plus a professional housing qualification (e.g. Chartered Institute of Housing recognised)
  • A proven ability to lead multiple supported-accommodation services in a managerial capacity
  • Knowledge of person-centred support, trauma-informed care and psychologically informed environments
  • Experience of managing service contracts, consortia arrangements and management agreements
  • Demonstrable knowledge of safeguarding, and experience handling confidential information securely
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to build trust and maintain professional relationships
  • Confident using IT and CRM systems, including Excel
  • Experience of staying calm under pressure and defusing difficult situations
  • Able to travel across the region (and occasionally beyond) for meetings, training and business support
  • Flexible to work non-standard hours on a rota for on-call cover
  • Enhanced DBS with the adults' barred list
  • A decisive, well-organised self-starter with strong interpersonal skills: empathetic, open and engaging, comfortable working within a values-led framework, able to work without close supervision, adaptable when the unexpected arises, and driven by a genuine desire to transform the lives of the people you support

Pay & Benefits

  • £47,250 per annum
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays (rising with service)
  • Group personal pension plan
  • Life assurance (4x basic annual salary)
  • Enhanced sick, maternity and paternity pay
  • Training, development and clear career progression
  • Employee Assistance Programme and wellbeing app access
  • Healthcare cash plan and discounts (including Blue Light Card eligibility)
